    If you’re good with your hands, and making things gives you a sense of satisfaction, then a career in the construction industry could be just what you need to showcase your talents.

    Plastering offers plenty of scope for working on a range of different projects, with the chance of one day becoming your own boss. On this programme you’ll explore both practical and theoretical aspects of the trade.

    This programme will give you a general overview of the plastering trade. On completion you will be able to progress to further study, then Higher Education or employment.

    Engaging with employers is also an integral part of this programme – we’ll seek to ensure that you have opportunities to gain real-world experience of your chosen sector.

    • Produce Components from Moulds
    • Form Sand and Cement Screeds

    Elements of Study
    Your programme consists of the following elements:
    • Study of your chosen vocational subject - 50% of your programme
    • Employability skills, such as punctuality, attendance,
    communication and team work
    • Work experience or an Industry Placement, giving you
    a taste of working life
    • Tutorial and personal development, such as healthy living, volunteering and citizenship skills

    After you have completed the course, you’ll have the opportunity to progress to further study at College. Following this, you may decide to move on to employment, university, or explore the possibility of doing a Higher Apprenticeship (Level 4).

    Following further study you could work as a:

    • Plasterer, earning up to £30,000 per year
    • Dry Liner, earning up to £30,000 per year
    • Tiler, earning up to £38,000 per year

    Assessment


    All learners will complete an individual learning plan which will be discussed with their tutor throughout the course.

    Financial


    You may not have to pay tuition fees at all, if you fall into one of the groups eligible for fee exemptions. If you feel you may be eligible or would like someone to explain course fees in more detail, pleasecontact us via our Live Chat service available on any page of our website.

    Adult Learners


    Adult learners (19+) must provide evidence of their existing qualification at enrolment. Learners may not be able to enrol if this information is not provided when requested. If you have lost any certificates please contact your school in the first instance. If they are unable to provide a copy, you can contact one of the following exam boards (your school will be able to tell you which one applies to the exams you took):
