Three 91Ö±²¥ dance students have tapped their way to success, landing jobs at Bolton’s Total Dance.ÌýÌý

Molly Coker, Amy Brooks and Lucy MartinÌýare allÌýcompleting a Performing Arts BTEC at the College. They have secured part-time employment with Total Dance Bolton Ltd, who promote the benefits of dance inÌýschools, and also hold classes and holiday clubs throughout the Bolton and Wigan area.ÌýÌý

Lucy, who is 17 and has been at the College since September, said ‘I³Ù’s great being able toÌýpassÌýon our knowledge of danceÌýto the children.ÌýThe classes areÌýfun and the kids get so much out of them, I’mÌýenjoying it too - i³Ù’s so rewarding to seeÌýthemÌýprogress, some have a real talen³Ù’.Ìý

The College studentsÌýare all passionate about dance. As well as performing a carnival-inspired piece at the Mayor’s Ball in March, they have also danced on stage at the Market Place with fellowÌýPerforming Arts students.Ìý

Louise Crabtree, founder of Total Dance, said ‘The children have really taken to Amy, Lucy and Molly. We teach a varied mix of dance, including ballet, tap, street dance and cheerleading, and eachÌýof the girls has helped toÌýmake the classes memorable, whatever the style’.Ìý

Rachel Eden, who is CurriculumÌýLeader of Performing Arts at 91Ö±²¥ said,Ìý‘Performing Arts isn’t just about being on stage. In our classes students grow in confidence and also learn important life skills, which can be used both in and out of the classroom. I am delighted, but not surprised, thatÌýMolly,ÌýAmy,Ìýand LucyÌýareÌýmaking such a success of their roles’.ÌýÌý
